"We stepped up our game and awarded $37,000 in scholarships to African American college students in the quad counties of Kane, Kendall, DuPage and Will," said Board Chairman, Sherman Jenkins. "Awards ranged from $5,000 to $2,000. With inflation getting the best of all of us, our board members and sponsors wanted to show leadership...and they did."

The Entertainment for the 2022 celebration was jazz composer, arranger, and percussionist Thaddeus Tukes. He has performed with a variety of artists including Branford Marsalis, Victor Goines, Roy Hargrove, Nicole Mitchell, Joan Collaso and Chance the Rapper. He did not DISAPPOINT. Great job Thaddeus!!!
