InterFaith Aurora Presents A Celebration of Music, Friendship November 19th

AURORA, IL – On Sunday, November 19th at St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church, 2950 Bilter Road, beginning at 3 p.m., InterFaith Aurora will host its tenth annual “Thanksgiving Celebration of Music and Friendship” presenting songs and religious praise from diverse congregations throughout the Aurora area. This year’s theme is “No Walls.”

“This celebration is the consummation of our year-long activities where different religious denominations work to bring understanding, inclusion, awareness and friendship of each other in order to work toward a more harmonious and just community,” said Tammy Helfrich, the organization’s coordinator.

There will be readings from members of the Baha’i, Jewish and Sikh communities, music from the Sign and Praise Choir of the St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church, Our Savior Lutheran Church, the Youth and Adult Choir of Wesley Methodist Church and much more. City of Aurora Mayor Richard C. Irvin will welcome attendees. The celebration is open to the public.

Light refreshments will be served after the event and offerings raised from the celebration will be donated to CASA Kane County, which is a nonprofit organization that prevents children from falling through the cracks of the heavily populated court and child welfare system.

Participants in this year’s event include the following:

Our Savior Lutheran Church

Aurora Jewish Renewal Congregation

Aurora Baha’i Community

Temple B’nai Israel
