InterFaith Aurora Celebration of Music & Friendship Attracts Hundreds to St. John AME Church in
Approximately 300 people of different faith denominations attended the ninth annual InterFaith Aurora Community Thanksgiving celebration at St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church in Aurora, IL. recently. The event featured songs from the Youth and Adult Choir of Wesley United Methodist Church and St. John Sign Singers and Praise Choir, readings from Islamic Center of Naperville, and the Aurora Jewish Renewal Congregation and a reception for all attendees in the St. John AME Church Fellowship Hall.
A donation offering was raised during the event and the proceeds were giving to the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry located at 834 N. Highland Avenue in Aurora. The Pantry was founded in the 1950s by lifelong social and civil rights activist, Marie Wilkinson who began distributing bags of food at her home in Aurora.
