IL Department of Children & Family Services System
The Illinois Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) has launched a new initiative with the objective of reducing the number of African-American children within the child welfare system. The agency is asking community stakeholders to become part of the effort and help to devise solutions. According to Ms. Brenda Brown of DCFS, Action Teams have been formed throughout the state and are actively recruiting agencies and community members whom will be “committed to the cause.” The Kane/Kendall county team meets every third Friday of the month from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Mercy Provena Hospital, Behavioral Health Building in Aurora, IL. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Brown at (630) 801-3433. -
